Segregation of Minorities in the City of Norfolk

Segregation of Minorities in the City of Norfolk

The past few weeks have been of interest to me. I have spoke in front of a packed room of angry citizens mostly homeowners having problems with tenants and relunctant to say the race but its obvious of the finger they point. They are trying to implement new rules without minoritiy knowledge such as security cameras, background checks of all citizens, and basically invading the privacy of a particular race and area in which if in Norfolk, Va that black and mexicans reside. They fail to mention it is also whites in those areas, but they like to blame minorities into turning them into one of our kind. If you are a citizen in any city I encourage you to get involved and voice your opinion. If you have notice in our city. the tearing down of projects and neighborhoods and you see those nice houses replacing what once use to be a big part of handling housing problems for low income or poverty stricken citizens. This isnt about you being a citizen it is all about your race. If you like having new rules only apply to you but equally will not be applied to your counterparts than stay on the couch, watch tv instead of the news, and let things happen because they voted and your opinion does not matter. We have a bunch of cell outs in downtown norfolk, va and ill spend my time pointing them out. Its funny how one door opens and than have opportunity to bring someone through the same door, but quickly turn on those that needs to break the glass ceiling. I plan on breaking the glass ceiling or making sure you are not ignored. I think our leaders have gotten feed up with the politics and have strayed away into other avenues and ventures. I hope they turn back the clock to bring demonstations and education of the community and the matters that affect us into the population that has lost faith in who really cares. These businesses are the ones controlling policy and plan on hiring the ones they know regardless of their credit and using your credit as a means to disqualify you from a job. I thought in the equal employment opportunity commission would help open up doors, but it is a sugar coat to matters that would force those doors open. The question I challenge all to ask yourself. How would you feel having more experience and being better qualified for a job but someone less qualified gets the job because their credit score is better than yours? It could be people who never struggle a day in their life income surpass those that been breaking their back just to get the basic luxuries. Do not believe for a second experience will get you through the door of city government. It is all about who you know. I encourage if you have a reference in city government find those in influential departments to put that good word of recommendation in to you. We need more of the base to uplift more of our surroundings. One thing that shows the strength of our community good or bad. The same people trying to invke policy wont even get out their car to confront the ones who being affected by their opinions. They are quick to send in the police to enforce it. Another question is where are you planning to have people live after you do everything your power to have them leave. If so I hope they go into those rich neighborhoods and have a night out in Norfolk on their block.
